I am sure all of us have heard about the multiple benefits of the aloe plant. It is high with antibacterial property and because of its moisturizing properties, it has many uses on the skin and hair care. Aloe vera consists of high hydration and nourishing agents which give you soft, glowing skin. If you don’t have an aloe vera plant at home, I would highly suggest you get one. The benefits are endless, and this list is going to convince you of that! So, take a self-care day and give your skin a much needed rejuvenation. Here is the part 1 of our DIY masks to tide you for a few weeks!
DIY 1- Removes Blackheads and clears pores
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp Aloe vera gel
Directions- Mix all of them till sugar dissolves a little and massage the paste for 10 mins to gently exfoliate your skin. Apart from removing dead skin cells, it also removes blackheads and dirt that has piled up in your face's pores. You'll be left feeling refreshed afterward!
DIY 2: Reduces Acne popping
- 2 tbsp Aloe vera gel
- Half tsp Cinnamon Powder
- 2 tbsp Honey
Directions- Make a mixture out of these after and be sure that the mixture is not runny. Let the mask stay on your face for about 10- 12 mins and wash off with warm water. This mask is high with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial powers that is good for reducing acne.
DIY 3: Hydrating face mask
- 3 tbsp cucumber juice
- 2 tsp aloe vera gel
Directions- Make a thick paste and apply a generous layer on face. Wash it off after 15 mins to reveal hydrated and fresh skin!
DIY 4: Shaving gel for body
- 4 tsp Aloe vera gel
- 1 tbsp coconut/ olive oil
Directions- Mix well and use as a shaving gel to avoid skin from becoming dry and help heal faster. Also makes your skin smooth and easy to shave.
DIY 5: Moisturizing body scrub
- 2 tsp aloe vera gel
- 2 tablespoons of oatmeal
- 1 teaspoon of almond oil.
Directions- Make sure to massage all over body for about five minutes. Then let it rest and do its magic for another fifteen to twenty minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water.
DIY 6- Rejuvenating face gel
- 2 tbsp Aloe vera gel
- 2-3 drops of almond/ jojoba oil
Directions- On a freshly washed face before sleeping massage this mix and let it rejuvenate your skin! Wake up with a fresh glow on your face every day.
DIY 7: Face wash for fresh face everyday
- 1/2cup aloe vera gel (if using fresh gel then puree in a food processor in advance)
- 1/2cup rose water (depending on your preferred consistency)
- 2 tablespoons castile soap
- 4 drops rosehip essential oil (or any essential oil)
- 2 drops almond oil
Directions- Combine all the ingredients in a bottle. Screw the lid on tight and shake well to combine. To use, rub a dime-size amount between your hands and gently massage into skin, avoiding the eye area. Rinse completely with cool water
DIY 8: Hair mask for smooth hair
- 4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
- Half teaspoon argon oil
- 1 teaspoon castor oil
- 3 drops of essential oil
Directions- Apply the aloe vera hair mask as a pre-shampoo hair treatment. Massage a quarter-size amount into your scalp and lengths, leave it on for at least 10 minutes. After rinse first, then shampoo, and you’ll be left with soft, healthy hair and a clean, breathable scalp.
DIY 9: Depuffing under eye mask
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons aloe vera gel
- Half teaspoon matcha
Directions- Gently apply a thin layer of the mask to your under-eye area. Leave on for 3-5 minutes and lightly remove with a washcloth and warm water.
DIY 10- Gel for healthy lashes
- 2 tablespoons castor oil
- 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
Directions- Add this mixture in a old mascara tube or a jar and apply on your eyelashes regularly for healthy lashes! Say bye-bye to your mascara!
DIY 11- Exfoliating body scrub
- 2 tablespoons pure aloe vera gel
- 1 tablespoon organic raw honey
- 1/4 cup organic sea salt
Directions- Mix all ingredients and use as a body scrub, massaging into the skin and rinsing off with warm water. Gently removes dead dry skin and nourishes your body.
DIY 12- Coffee body scrub
- 2 tablespoons pure aloe vera gel
- 2 tablespoons organic ground coffee
Directions- Mix ground coffee with aloe vera gel until well-combined. Apply to stretch marks, massaging into the skin in a circular motion. And let sit on the skin 20 minutes. Rinse in the shower!
DIY 13: Anti-acne mask
- 1 large leaf of aloe vera plant
- 1 cup of hot freshly brewed green tea
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 5 drops of tea tree essential oil
Directions- Make a mixture of all the ingredients. Soak a gauze (or piece of thin fabric) with the mask mixture and apply saturated gauze over your face. Wait for 20 minutes and pat remaining mask into the skin. You do not have to rinse off access mask solution.
DIY 14- Body mask
- 2 tbsp. aloe vera gel
- 2 tbsp. honey
- 1 tsp. turmeric
Directions- Combine ingredients in glass bowl. Apply to skin. Leave on for 20-30 minutes. Rinse and moisturize well!
DIY 15- Mask for soft- hydrated hair
- 3 tbsp aloe vera gel
- 2 tsp yogurt
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp honey
Directions- Mix well and apply on hair and scalp. Massage the mixture into the scalp for 10 minutes. Let it rest for half an hour and wash. This mask helps reduce dandruff and remove buildup while softening the locks.
